Do you want to lead a dedicated regional team that works collaboratively to improve safety across Devon and Cornwall’s roads?  If yes, then an exciting opportunity has come up for a Project Manager role to lead the work of Vision Zero South West (VZSW).  VZSW is a collaborative project between a number of organisations across Devon and Cornwall. The one thing they all share is a commitment to cut the number of deaths and serious injuries in the region to zero. 

The partnership is led by a Board which includes a wide range of experts from all around the South West including senior police and fire officers, leading clinicians, councillors and the police and crime commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. As a partner to VZSW, Cornwall Council is proud to be hosting this role on behalf of this partnership.

As the Project Manager you will leading the VZSW partnership and be responsible for leading the partnerships programme development and delivery.   You will be a forward thinking, proactive, visionary individual that strives for constant improvement and achievement across the partnership-  with the ultimate aim of reducing injury and deaths on the regions roads.   The role holder will lead on developing best practice, engagement activities,  project development and coordintation of the delivery of the VZSW Road Safety Delivery Plans.

The role holder will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies.  A professional approach applying discretion and diplomacy is essential.  The successful applicant will enjoy the challenge of leading and working within a busy team environment, display flexibility and produce good quality, accurate outputs, while often working to deadlines. This role will involve a combination of office/home working and will be directly responsible for the line management of one support (secretariat) role.
